About Us

The Radio Astronomy Systems group builds advanced radio camera imaging systems based on phased array technology for radio telescopes.

The group uses electromagnetic theory, digital signal processing, microwave and RF circuit design, and computer engineering to develop systems that include antennas, signal handling electronics, and software running on FPGAs, GPUs, and CPUs for digital image formation.

This work is supported by the National Science Foundation through grants AST-9987339, 032705, and other NSF awards, and through internal funds from Brigham Young University and the Fulton College of Engineering.

Openings for undergraduate and graduate research assistants are available. Contact warnick@ee.byu.edu for information.
